Born in the Dolomites in Italy, many via ferrata’s routes were created in Europe. Right now, Millau has two of them, one in the Dourbie Gorges and the second one is at the entrance of the Gorges du Tarn. Progress a cliffside in sporting and fun run. The via ferrata activity is between climbing and hiking. Discover the two regional via ferrata with a instructor or by yourself.
Season ?
All year round, except via ferrata du Boffi is closed to coatching from 15 March to 15 June (biotope order) from 21 May to professionals.
Where ?
The via ferrata are within a radius of 20 km maximum. We can offer you other via ferrata on demand particularly in Lozère.
Equipment
Shoes sports pants and jacket recommended for cool in the morning. Light backpack with a bottle of water and some snacks (e.g. cereal bars.)
Appointment
Appointments via-ferrata take place directly on the official parking of via ferrata or on Millau for a carpool.

Via Ferrata Boffi
Two circuits for this via located 15 mn from Millau, on the Causse Noir: a yellow and red course. Activity begin with a hike (walking) from the Causse to dive quickly on the cliffs of the Dourbie Gorge. Very pretty via, quite upright with outlook over Millau and it art structure, the Millau Viaduct. From 2 to 3 hrs of activity, according to the participant’s level. News course to discover from the 21 th of may with instructor.

Via Ferrata Liaucous
Located 15-20 minutes from Millau, on the road to Le Rozier, at the gateway of the Gorges of the Tarn and Jonte. The activity begin with a hike on the side of the Causse. 2 courses possibles: blue and red (the Red remains more physical, overflow’s ways !). On the top of the course a beautiful tyrolean is praticable... Wonderful spot in a beautiful chaos of limestone (ruiniform laps). From 3 to 4 hrs, according to the participant’s level.

Rent Equipment
We offer the rental of equipment for experienced people: The pack includes 1 adjustable helmet and 1 harness with loins with absorber lanyards and a pulley.
From 12 years or 40 Kg minimun - less than 40 kg: the absorber won’t work, so no rental are possible underweight.

A little story
First Via Ferrata
The first touristic via ferrata was created in the Austrian Alpines foothills in 1843. Friedrich Simony made the first ascent the 2th september 1843.
More InfosInspired by the techniques of the Austrian, the Italian army has developed this activity since the beginning of the 21st century requirements some steep on the Dolomite with a handrail and some iron rung to allow Alpine troup to cross valleys.These facilities have been multiply on European mountains chain from the 1950s until the mid-1980s when appeared the first routes of low-level oppended to the general public.The first French via ferrata opended in 1988, since this activity was popularized especially during the ninteenth, through the stowage of slight overhang route , steep walls have been developed by sport tourism.
